Garrett Prosofsky Garrett Prosofsky, Partner

After a hockey career that took Garrett all over Canada, the United States and Germany, he made his way back to the steel industry in which he grew up. In 2009, Garrett moved his young family back to Saskatoon and began work with Saskatoon Metal Mfg. He started out in the shop learning the industry – from running the forklift, how to break & bend metal and learning how to weld and fabricate miner boxes. Garrett then attended SIAST and graduated with a diploma as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist. After his schooling, he joined Ram Steel Ltd and worked in the field to gain a good understanding of the iron worker trade. As the company grew, Garrett moved into the office and took on the project management roll. One year later, he became a partner as is now the head of our business operations.


Jay Hamilton Jay Hamilton, Supervisor

Jay started ironworking in 2006 and is a red seal journeyman ironworker with experience in steel fabrication, and erection, as well as maintenance operations in the industrial mine sites. Jay has executed various maintenance, shut down and new construction projects on various mine sites throughout Saskatchewan. Prior to Ironworking, he was a welder / fabricator at Nutana Machine in Saskatoon. Jay has taken various courses throughout his ironworking career such as Foreman Training, Superintendent Training, Effective Supervision Through Effective Communications, and Construction Project Management.


Mark Shaw Mark Shaw, P.Eng., PMP, Project Manager

After completing his education at the University of Saskatchewan, Mark spent the first five years of his career in the manufacturing sector, in project and engineering management roles. Following that, he transitioned to an EPCM firm, where he gained both office and field experience on multi-discipline potash and uranium projects. Mark was then employed by the City of Saskatoon, where held the position of Environmental Operations Manager, followed by Water Treatment Plant Manager. He joined Ram Steel in 2022, returning to his project management roots.


Logan Adrian Logan Adrian, Supervisor

Logan is a red seal journeyman ironworker and CWB certified welder, with supervisor, first aid, rescue, and construction safety officer training. He has been working in the construction and steel manufacturing industry for over 15 years. He has been involved in large to small projects at several Saskatchewan potash mines, agricultural and commercial buildings, ornamental and structural. Logan has been with Ram Steel as a Field Supervisor for the last 4 years.


Tyler Prosofsky Tyler Prosofsky, A.Sc.T. Partner

Growing up in the steel trade gave Tyler an understanding of what was involved in a steel fabrication shop. From sweeping floors at Saskatoon Metal Mfg. at a young age, he later graduated to the ironworker, brake and shear, welding, fabricating, and gained the experience of interacting with others in a work environment. Tyler pursued a hockey career at age 16, after playing Jr Hockey for 5 years and Professional Hockey for 6, while still working at Saskatoon Metal in the summers, he decided to become a permanent part of the business. In 2003 he attended SIAST and graduated with a diploma as a Mechanical Engineer Technologist. Tyler moved into the front office of Saskatoon Metal Mfg. in 2005 and became a partner one year later. He has been involved in drafting, plasma table programming, shipping/receiving, purchasing, estimating, marketing, project management and customer client relations.


Dion Protzak Dion Protzak, P.Eng. Partner

Since graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the U of S, Dion has gained 2 decades of combined manufacturing, project management and maintenance experience in heavy industry and mining. After spending four years at Hitachi Canadian Industries as a machining engineer, maintenance engineer and quality assurance coordinator he then worked for five years at PCS Potash Cory division as a project engineer and maintenance crew supervisor. Dion joined Saskatoon Metal Mfg. as a manufacturing engineer in 2003 and became a partner one year later. He has been involved in a vast array of projects throughout his career managing all phases of project execution and involving all trades and professions.
